The other day, we finally broke down and got ourselves a little outdoor fire "pit." I guess it's not really a pit... but that's what the kids call it. Joe, being ridiculously excited about it, set it up right away (which was at about 7:PM) so that we could do hot dogs and "smarmeshlows" before the kids went to bed. Needless to say, their bedtime got a little extended that evening... I think it was almost 10 before they hit the sack, after dinner and baths (obviously). We had so much fun sitting out on the deck, doing something new as a family. As you can see, everyone was so excited, that we didn't even put away all of the kids' toys...
Joe was SO excited to get home and get it put together, that we completely forgot about the 2 most important parts of sitting around the fire: 1)Wood. :/ And 2) Roasters. SO... we found some wire hangers and took them apart, and we had a pile of scrap wood that he just broke apart. The great thing about kids is they don't care how glamorous it is... they're just happy to be doing something together. :)
Haylie and her cheesy grin, toastin' her toes. :)
